Mentor/Referee Coach

US Soccer has implemented certification for the Referee Coach and Referee Mentor positions. The Referee Coach will play a vital role in referee development, concentrating on the regional and referee referees. The Referee Coach will be able to lead educational sessions (e.g., video analysis, and field sessions) and perform on-field evaluations (e.g., developmental and full assessments) that adhere to U.S. Soccer’s education philosophy (reality-based, holistic, and experiential).

The referee mentor will provide the same role and be able to perform the same tasks for referee development with referees.
